About the Artist

George Olson, Artist and Architect, has been a master of his craft for the last four decades. He was born and raised in Montana with the Bob Marshall Wilderness as his play ground and inspiration.

Although his career began in architecture he continually pursued his love of art. His work in the architectural department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints enabled him and his wife to travel throughout Europe and other parts of the world, learning from the masters and honing his own style.

George is now devoting his time to fine art. He has added water color to his beautiful pen and ink works and is expanding into oils.

After living and working in Europe and other areas of the United States George and Ruth now live in Midway, Utah, where they finished raising their six daughters and enjoy eleven grandchildren. Midway is a quaint little mountain town of Swiss heritage with unending natural beauty to inspire George and Ruth as they pursue their art careers. George also has designed many of the beautiful Swiss buildings and homes in Midway. Olson Galleries is located on the main street of this picturesque town.

George is considered one of a few remaining true pen and ink artists using the old method of crow quill pen and India Ink. It is with great pleasure that his collective works of the past and new works of today are being released.
